FAQ's (Frequently Asked Questions)
BRIDAL TRIALS
Q. MAY I DO A PRE-WEDDING TRIAL BEFORE I COMMIT?
Absolutely. We want you to be 100% sure of your decision. Our Artists have extensive experience and many beautiful photos which showcase their talents – we are happy to work with you to create the look you want for your special day. Please keep in mind that your wedding date is not secured with us until a signed contract and deposit are in place. We do not hold dates pending trial runs.
Q: WHERE DOES THE BRIDAL TRIAL TAKE PLACE?
All trials are performed at our Studio (located at 1534 Packer Avenue, Second floor, Suite 200-R, Philadelphia, PA 19145). There is free and ample parking in the parking lot directly outside the Studio. If you would like to book a trial - click here.
Q: how long DOES THE BRIDAL TRIAL last?
Each Bridal Trial may take less than, or last longer than one (1) hour, but is not to exceed 90 minutes. If we are unable to achieve the look you desire after 90 minutes, we can either schedule another Bridal Trial with you or you may opt for another Artist, if available (re-booking fees apply for both options).
Q: WHEN SHOULD I BOOK MY bridal TRIAL?
We encourage scheduling your trial date several months before your wedding, once you have finalized other details such as the venue, dress, veil, and accessories. This approach helps in defining the desired look for your special day. Brides who opt for an early trial session tend to alter their appearance multiple times, which not only incurs additional costs for extra sessions but also increases the likelihood of settling for a look that may not be the most flattering.
Q: Will the artist who does my trial be the artist who does my wedding day?
Generally, the same Artist will be available. However, in emergency situations, a different Artist may be assigned. We ensure continuity by taking detailed photos and notes, enabling the new Artist to recreate the look from your trial. Please note that we only make such substitutions in exceptional circumstances.
WEDDING DAY
Q. for my wedding day, Will you travel to me?
We offer both options for your convenience! We can travel to you - or - host your bridal party at our Studio. We do have a 4-person minimum, or a $50/pp additional fee applies.
Q: WHAT IF I ONLY NEED HAIR OR ONLY MAKEUP - NOT BOTH?
No problem! We are happy to provide just one service if needed.
Q: When should I book makeup/hair for my wedding?
It's best to book as early as possible! Like most wedding vendors, we schedule bookings from 6 months to over a year in advance. We adhere to a first-come-first-served policy and require a contract and deposit to secure a date.
Q: How do I book with Flawless Finish?
To reserve your event date, a signed contract and a deposit (25% of the total cost for day-of services) are required. We do not reserve wedding dates without these prerequisites - even pending a trial.
GENERAL
Q: I'm having a small, intimate wedding, can i still book?
Absolutely! We require a 4 person minimum for each service area (Flower Girls and Blowouts Only do not count towards the minimum) or a $50 per person fee will be added.
Q: Do you offer A MILITARY discount?
We are grateful for your service and are pleased to offer Military and First Responder Appreciation pricing. Should the Bride or Groom be serving or have served in the Military or as a First Responder, we extend a 10% discount on the Bride's wedding day services. This discount covers all branches of the Military, Police, Firefighters, and EMTs, whether active or retired. The offer is valid solely for the Bride's wedding day services, provided that our minimum requirement of four bookings is met (excluding flower girls and blowouts). Please note, the discount does not increase if both the Bride and Groom are military members or first responders.
Q: WHAT HAPPENS IF SOMEONE no longer wants hair/makeup services AFTER I'VE PAID THE DEPOSIT AND SIGNED THE CONTRACT?
Should a member of your wedding party opt out of hair and/or makeup services and cancel, the total balance due will not change. The number of individuals for hair and/or makeup services in the Contract cannot be transferred between services. To add individuals to the service timeline, please inform us in writing to assess if the addition can be accommodated.
Q: WHy can't i delete services and receive a refund?
As is common among wedding vendors, we schedule bookings well in advance, often more than a year ahead. Consequently, when artists are reserved for your event, they are no longer available to accept other engagements on that date. For this reason, it is not possible to cancel services once your contract and deposit have been received.
Q. I'M not sure what makeup/hair look I want, can you help?
Certainly! It's recommended to start your search online—Pinterest and Instagram are excellent sources. At your Bridal Trial, we'll craft a look inspired by your preferences and tailor it to highlight your features.
Q: What kind of makeup brands/products do you use?
We utilize high-quality, professional-grade products that guarantee a durable and flawless finish (pun intended :). We've found that no single cosmetic brand offers the best of everything, which is why our kits feature a diverse selection from various product lines.
Q. What is the difference between Airbrush vs Traditional?
Airbrush makeup is often mistaken for airbrushing in Photoshop. Yet, unlike Photoshop, makeup cannot change your skin's texture. When applied by experts using quality products, both airbrush and traditional makeup can enhance your beauty. The difference lies in the application: airbrush makeup is sprayed on as a fine mist, allowing for lightweight coverage, while traditional makeup is applied with brushes or sponges, offering coverage that can range from sheer to full.
AIRBRUSH
Airbrush makeup has gained popularity for weddings, especially when high-definition recording is involved. The foundation used in airbrush makeup can be water-based or silicone-based, providing a natural, luminous finish with any level of coverage. It not only looks stunning in photographs but is also known for its durability.
TRADITIONAL
The term "traditional" refers to any foundation that can be applied using makeup brushes, fingers, or sponges, including creams, liquids, and powders. Traditional foundation is highly versatile, ranging from a simple sheer tint to full coverage that targets specific skin concerns. It can produce stunning results, leaving your skin looking absolutely beautiful!
